August

Here are some facts about Parker in August at 9 months:
*He loves to eat cheese, avocado, ham, banana and strawberries
*Parker isn't in to sitting still. He walks as much as he can using whatever he can hold on to.
*Toys are no longer amusing. Parker prefers going through cupboards and drawers to find Mom & *Dad's things (cups, hair dryer, shavers, cat food, cell phone, etc)
*Parker likes to be funny. He will bite the spoon and then laugh. He squints, shows his teeth and shakes his head.
*Parker understands much of what we are saying. He doesn't always choose to follow directions, but he is very capable.
*He enjoys playing with toilet water and flushing the toilet. This makes for a quick shower/get ready time for Mom.
*Drinking from the hose is Parker's favorite outdoor activity.
*Parker has 5 teeth in. Two on the bottom and three on the top.
*Parker loves climbing the stairs. He is super fast! He will often be halfway up before we catch him.  He doesn't like to practice going down yet, which makes this an unsafe hobby...maybe next month.
*Parker likes to be funny. He does things like makes faces, shakes his head, bites the spoon and then he will laugh at himself. What a ham.

Parker makes his own fun. The other day, he pulled out his toy bin from under the end table in the living room. He climbed in, pushed the books out and just hung out for a good 15 minutes. Who needs toys?

Parker loves to climb. He climbs up the stairs super fast. He tries to climb over his baby gate. He even was successful at climbing out of his crib! At 9 months! What are we in for?! (Since then we've removed his bumper)

My cousin, Kelly, and got married to Travis Almon this month in Portland. They know how to put on a fun event! I always love going to weddings and it was extra fun because we got to see family! I love seeing my cousins. Also, it was the first time introducing Parker to many of them, which was really special.

Justin turned 29 on the 15th.  The last year of his 20s! He's getting old! We celebrated a couple times with family and friends. Justin has had an outstanding 29 years so far and I know God has much more in store for the next 29.  Parker honored his Daddy by making his first masterpiece, an original finger painting! Yes, we will be framing it because we are obsessed with our child.

For Labor Day weekend, we joined our friends, Josh and Rachel Snyder and their Son, Levi on a vacation to Seabrook, Wa. They are great vacationing buddies.  We have been talking about doing a trip with them for awhile. I didn't know anything about Seabrook except that we were renting a cute house by the beach. That's all I needed to hear! Seabrook is adorable! After being there for 20 minutes, Justin and I had already decided we'd be returning.  It was a much needed, relaxing vacation. We watched the boys play, walked on the beach, relaxed on the patio, ate amazing food, and swam in the pool. What a great way to say goodbye to summer!
